Ron Fort, Chief of Police |

| Chief Fort began his law
enforcement career with the Iowa City Police Department in
1967 when he was hired as a police officer with that
department. Chief Fort served as a police officer,
sergeant, and lieutenant with the Iowa City Police
Department in assignments including patrol, investigations,
narcotics, and bomb squad. Chief Fort retired from the
Iowa City Police Department in 2001 as a patrol watch
commander and was hired as Chief of Police with the
University Heights Police Department in 2004. Chief
Fort is a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy's 9th
Basic, has a degree in business, and has logged thousands of
hours of in-service training throughout his career including
various instructor schools. Chief Fort is a private
pilot and enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, golfing,
boating, reading, family history, computers and motorcycle
riding. |

Brad Reinhard, Sergeant |

Sergeant Reinhard began
his career with the University Heights Police Department as
a reserve officer in 2003, a position which he held until
being hired full-time in 2005. During his time as a
reserve officer, Sergeant Reinhard logged an average of over
150 hours of patrol per month, focusing on impaired driving
enforcement.
Sergeant Reinhard is a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement
Academy's 208th Basic, and was promoted to sergeant in 2006.
In addition to regular patrol duties, Sergeant Reinhard is
the first line supervisor for the full time, part time and reserve officers, serves
as the reserve unit liaison, and is responsible for organizing training for all
members of the department. Sergeant Reinhard is a certified Reserve
Officer Instructor and holds additional instructor
certifications in Firearms, Taser, OWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety
Testing, RADAR/LIDAR, and TraCS. |

Matt Fort, Senior Police Officer |

| Officer Fort was hired by the
University Heights Police Department as a Reserve Officer in 2003 and accepted a
full-time position later that year. Officer Fort is a graduate of the Iowa
Law Enforcement Academy's 197th Basic. Officer Fort became a part time
officer with the department in July of 2004 after resigning his full time
position for a position with the New London Police Department. In 2006,
Officer Fort was again hired full time to fill a vacant position. Officer
Fort has also previously been employed as a reserve deputy with the Johnson
County Sheriff's Office. Officer Fort holds an instructor certification in
Firearms, ASP Expandable Baton, and ASP Restraints and has completed several
specialty schools. |

Don Strong, Senior Police Officer |

Officer Strong
was hired by the University Heights Police Department as a Reserve Officer in 2004,
a position which he held until being hired full-time in 2007. Officer
Strong is a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy's 222nd Basic. Officer
Strong has previously served as a reserve officer with
the West Branch Police Department, as a corrections
officer with the Cedar County Sheriff's Office, and in the Iowa National Guard.
Officer Strong is currently a member of West Branch Fire Department.
Officer Strong is certified as a Child Passenger Safety Seat Technician and
CPR/AED instructor. Officer Strong has assisted in the past in
installing emergency equipment in the department's patrol
cars. |

Ben Lord, Police Officer |

Officer Lord was hired by the University Heights Police Department
as a Reserve Officer and then as a Police Officer in 2008. Officer Lord holds a bachelor's degree in Criminology and Criminal
Justice from Iowa State University and is also employed part time in private sector
security. Officer Lord is a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement
Academy's 217th Basic and was previously employed with the Marion Police
Department. Officer Lord has additional experience as a student
intern with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) and
with the Iowa State University Department of Public Safety Parking Division.
Officer Lord is certified as a bicycle patrol officer and bicycle patrol
instructor. |

Josh Lefler, Lead Reserve Officer |

Lead Reserve Officer Lefler was hired by the University Heights
Police Department in early 2007 and was appointed to the position of Lead Reserve
Officer in the Fall of 2008. In addition to performing the same duties as
other members of the reserve unit, Lead Reserve Officer Lefler is also
responsible for maintaining time and training records for the reserve unit and
coordinating training with instructors. Lead Reserve Officer Lefler has a bachelor's degree
from DeVry University and is employed full time as a software developer.
Lead Reserve Officer Lefler's father is a law enforcement officer in Nebraska and he
has been interested in the field his entire life. |

Dennis Culver, Reserve Officer |

Reserve Officer Culver was hired
by the University Heights Police Department in 2006 and has previous experience
as a reserve officer for the Lisbon and West Branch Police Departments.
Reserve Officer Culver also previously served as a corrections officer for the
Cedar County Sheriff's Office and is currently a corrections officer with the
Iowa Department of Corrections at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center
located in Oakdale. Reserve Officer Culver has received certification as a
CPR/AED instructor. |

Casey Hazen, Reserve Officer |

Reserve
Officer Hazen was hired by the University Heights Police Department in 2007.
Reserve Officer Hazen is employed full time in an armed security position in
Linn county. Reserve Officer Hazen has previously served as a reserve
officer with the Columbus Junction and Shellsburg Police Departments and also
has full time law enforcement experience. Reserve Officer Hazen was also
previously a member of Iowa National Guard. Reserve Officer Hazen has
assisted with upfitting of the department's patrol cars in the past. |

Brent Andersen, Reserve Officer |

Reserve Officer Andersen was hired by the University Heights
Police Department in 2008 and is an Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Certified
Reserve Officer. Reserve Officer Andersen is a member of the
Iowa National Guard both in a full time, civilian position as well as in a
volunteer soldier capacity. Reserve Officer Andersen has been instrumental
in the installation and maintenance of equipment in the department's patrol
cars. Reserve Officer Andersen became involved in the reserve
unit as a stepping stone towards beginning a career in law enforcement. |

Reserve Officer Ahrens was hired by the University Heights
Police Department in early 2009 and is an Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Certified
Reserve Officer. Reserve Officer Ahrens has an associates
degree in Criminal Justice and is employed full time as a correctional officer
with the Iowa Department of Corrections at the Iowa Medical and Classification
Center located in Oakdale. |

Reserve Officer Doehrmann was hired by the University Heights
Police Department in early 2009. Reserve Officer Doehrmann is employed
full time as a community service officer with another Johnson County area law
enforcement agency and previously served as a dispatcher with the Coralville Police Department. Reserve
Officer Doehrmann has served in the Iowa Air National Guard and the United
States Air Force. |

Reserve Officer Platt was hired by the University Heights
Police Department in early 2009. Reserve Officer Platt is pursuing a
bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Reserve Officer Platt is a member
of the West Branch Fire Department and serves as their medical officer.
Reserve Officer Platt has been trained as an EMT-Basic and works full time as an
emergency communications dispatcher. |
